Stop-Cuts / Timed Strikes

These are incredibly situational. Basically, what we’re training here is seeing and taking minute opportunities as they occur. They all interrupt the opponent in the middle of their action to make a touch.

• Stop Cut: Rondelle says this is a counter-attack into the opponent’s extended arm at any time before the final attack action. This may be an action while the opponent is moving and changing position as well as on the opponent’s feint.
• Timed Strike: Rondelle says this is a counter-attack into the opponent’s extended arm as they are making their strike.
• Attack into Preparation: Rondelle says this is a counter-attack into the opponent’s preparatory action, eg: a beat, press, etc.

LEF will consider these a single category. Surely whether their execution is on the final action of a sequence or at some other time does not matter.

• Either a forearm cut or a point strike to the opponent’s extended arm. That’s it. What more needs to be said?
• Need a range of situations in which the opportunity may be found. Perhaps a game with points: 1pt for a clean hit, 2pt for a stop cut/ timed strike?
